After completing high school, I envisioned myself becoming a psychologist. Someone to offer help and hold hands through difficult times and experiences. I never imagined myself as the owner of an online marketing company in Cape Town, but I guess at that stage, online marketing wasn’t really a recognised “profession”.

However, after completing my psychology degree, my views had changed slightly as they do, and I decided I didn’t want to further my studies.

Having focussed on Drug Rehabilitation and Treatment in university, my father and owner of ITM our website design partner, decided I was the perfect fit to write content for one of his new clients - a Rehabilitation Centre.

Shortly after this, we both realised that the digital marketing industry was about to bloom. I moved from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town and completed an online marketing course.

One thing led to the next and before I knew it, we were running a successful website design and digital marketing company in Cape Town.

Over the last 9 years, I have learnt a lot. I’ve seen SEO companies rise and fall, content marketing become king and social media marketing take the lead.

I’ve also learnt that business owners are just people wanting to succeed. As a business owner myself, I know that positive results and good customer service are what really matter.

Freya Media is the result of two like-minded people joining forces to create a digital marketing company that does things a little differently.

We are here to help business owners succeed as well as guide them through the digital marketing world and the obstacles it sometimes presents.

All in all, who am I? I’m a good person trying to do good things with and for good people.

Having lived in 5 different parts of the country, attending 6 different schools and 2 tertiary institutions, I have learned to be flexible and to adapt to my surroundings with relative ease.

Every time we moved or I changed schools, I thought it would be the end of the world. But what I actually learned is that stagnation would be the real killer – or mine at least.

So, it has become my natural flow to consistently learn more and expand my horizons, so that I never stagnate and it’s this flow that has brought me here today.

After dedicating 10 years to the pharmacy sector, during which I worked in various sectors and for 8 different companies, I started to feel stuck.

I just knew that I didn’t want to work 45 hours a week for the rest of my life in the hope that one day when I retire, I can finally start to live. Nothing about that sounded fulfilling to me.

It was at this point I was presented with an amazing opportunity and I discovered a new path – one that would allow me to continue my relentless passion for learning and the freedom to live a fulfilling life.

And so, alongside Robyn, my best friend and confidant, Freya Media was born – Cape Town’s (and soon, the world’s!) kindest, most passionate full-house digital marketing agency and labour of love shared between two hard-working, determined women.

Why the long backstory? Well, firstly, I believe that we never stop learning and with an ever-expanding industry like digital marketing, the desire to always want more is the life force of both our and our clients’ businesses.

Secondly, the ability to easily adapt to each client’s individual needs will be the driving force behind their success and, in turn, our own.

Lastly, when there is true passion involved, can we really call it work?
